Exchanges

Hello Family,
Ok so for this week. Last Tuesday we went to the neighboring city which by bike is about an hour away but since it was our first time going there and we tried talking to people on the way it took about an hour and a half. But I enjoy long bike rides. Especially that day. I needed. It was nice to just think and pray and look over the country side that we passed. And we did find an amazing woman on the way who ended up coming to church yesterday. Her name is Aki and her dad died recently and she has found out that she is really sick and she has to watch for her older brother who has some mental disorder so is like a 4 year old child. But she is so sweet and really wants to learn about the gospel. We gave her a book of Mormon and she has been reading it and she said that when she reads it and even during the times that she doesn't understand something she feels such a peaceful great feeling and that she really likes. She is very sweet!!

On Friday we had exchanges and my good friend Sister Toyosato came once again to Utsunomiya to work with me and that was such a big tender mercy from the Lord. I love her so much and we had a great time together and she was able to help me a lot. She was also able to meet with Hayakawa who is an investigator who has a baptismal date right now. She was actually the first person to find him so it was fun that she was able to meet again and he was absolutely thrilled to see her. It was really fun to be with a japanese companion again. I spoke much more japanese and was able to get some help. I hope that I have another Japanese companion. My Japanese has been slipping since my last one. My companions and I are really bad about speaking the language to each other. But my Japanese is still going well Yesterday a woman came to church who is a member and is from America and is here visiting her daughter and so Sister Vail and I took turns translating things  for her which was my first time and it was really hard and tiring but at the same really fun to do.

Not much else exciting happened this week. It was a pretty slow week compared to some. The weather here is really starting to warm up and I am looking forward to when it gets even warmer. There can still be chilly days but I hoping that since it is May now it will start getting a lot warmer. Oh I remembered something that will probably make our family laugh. So here is Japan teaching the word of wisdom can sometimes be interesting when we have a member joint. After the investigator hears about the things they can't drink a lot of them end up asking about coke and other soda products. The members in Japan don't drink it. They think it is wrong. haha I was once in a lesson and this happened when the investiagor asked and I explained that I like coke and it is ok to drink and when I said that the member gave me the weirdest look. haha Last week it happened with Hayakawa but the member was really good and explained that in Japan they don't but Americans do but like with anything too much can be bad for you and related it eating cake everyday for every meal. I thought it was funny. I have had to be careful about only drinking soda (when I do drink it) when I am in the apartment who just with other missionaries. But even the Japanese missionaries can be surprised. haha

Well that is it for this week. I really don't know what else to say. But I guess that is ok since I will talk to you this week. I am excited for today because I am going to a zoo where there is apparently a dolphin show and a dog show. It should be fun. And I am excited about going to the Temple tomorrow. Should be a good week this week. haha

Well I love you family!! Have a great week in Sunny San Deigo and have a great time going to the temple, especially you Megs. Remember to write down the feelings you have.

Love you all!!!

Kenzie
